Connections: How to Connect Your Data Sources
Connections define the configured links between your external data systems and the BEEM platform. Each connection specifies how BEEM authenticates with and extracts data from a source system.
Connection Details
Each connection entry displays:
- Connection name (user-defined label)
- Connector ID (unique identifier)
- Added by (creator)
- Status: Active, Paused, or Failed
Connection Types
- Fivetran-managed connectors: The majority of 750+ connectors, maintained and updated automatically
- Native connectors: Built by the BEEM team for specific integrations
- Custom API connectors: Built on request for systems without a standard connector
Best Practices
- Apply descriptive naming conventions (e.g., "Client Name - System Type")
- Regularly review connection statuses
- Pause unused connections to reduce DPU consumption
- Only Organization Admin users can create and manage connections
- Connections are organization-level, shared across all workspaces
