Meta Data Source Integration (Facebook & Instagram)

Connect your Facebook Pages and Instagram Business accounts to BEEM with a single Meta login. One authorization brings in page details, posts, comments, and insights for both platforms.

The Meta connector brings your Facebook Pages and linked Instagram Business accounts into BEEM through a single sign-in with Facebook. One authorization covers both platforms — BEEM creates a Facebook data source and an Instagram data source from the same connection.

Before you start

  • You need a Facebook account with access to the Pages you want to connect (admin access, or access through a Meta Business account).
  • To pull Instagram data, each Instagram account must be a Business (or Creator) account linked to one of your Facebook Pages. Personal Instagram accounts cannot be connected.
  • The person who authorizes the connection chooses which Pages to grant during sign-in.

Start the connection in BEEM

  1. In BEEM, go to Connections in the left sidebar
  2. Click New Connection
  3. Choose Custom Connector
  4. Select Meta
  5. Give the connection a descriptive name and click Continue

Sign in with Facebook

  1. A Facebook login window opens in a new tab
  2. Log in with an account that has access to the Pages you want to connect
  3. When prompted, select the Pages you want BEEM to access
  4. Review and accept the requested permissions (Pages, insights, and Instagram access)
  5. Facebook redirects you back to BEEM once authorization completes

Let BEEM discover your accounts

  1. BEEM automatically detects every Page you granted access to
  2. For each Page that has a linked Instagram Business account, BEEM also connects that Instagram account
  3. No additional input is required — the same authorization powers both the Facebook and Instagram data sources

Verify your data

  1. Go to the Datalake in the left sidebar
  2. Find the Facebook and Instagram sources
  3. After the first sync completes, confirm that source tables appear
  4. Click a table to preview the data

What data is collected

Once connected, BEEM syncs the following on a daily schedule.

Facebook (per Page):

  • Page details (name, fan count, follower count)
  • Daily page metrics (impressions, engagement, views, follows, reactions)
  • Posts, post attachments, and post comments
  • Post lifetime metrics (total, and a paid/organic breakdown)

Instagram (per linked Business account):

  • Profile snapshot (username, biography, followers, follows, media count)
  • Account-level insights (reach, interactions, profile and link activity)
  • Media (posts and reels) with their images and thumbnails
  • Per-media insights (reach, views, likes, comments, shares, saves)
  • Media comments

Images and videos

BEEM downloads and stores the image and video files attached to your Facebook posts and Instagram media, so they remain available in your data even if the original is later changed or removed.

Reconnecting

If a connection stops syncing — for example, after a password change or if Facebook access is revoked — open the connection in Connections and click Reconnect. This re-runs the Facebook sign-in and refreshes access without changing your existing data or connection name.

Good to know

  • One Meta login, two sources. You authorize once; BEEM maintains separate Facebook and Instagram sources so each platform's data stays cleanly organized.
  • Pages without Instagram still work. A Facebook Page that has no linked Instagram Business account simply contributes Facebook data only.
  • Permissions are chosen at sign-in. If you need to add Pages later, use Reconnect and select the additional Pages during the Facebook login step.
